The study of economics provides specialized and general knowledge of the operation of economic systems and institutions and a knowledge of fundamental economic principles with an emphasis on the basic operation of a market system. MSU Denver offers a BA/BFA Theatre degree that includes a BA in Theatre and a BFA with concentrations in Music Theatre or Applied Theatre Technology and Design. Music Theatre has been the hallmark of the program for fifteen years. Liberal Arts based, in partnership with the Music Department, the Music Theatre program is the only one of its kind in the Denver-Metro area.
The MSU Denver Theatre program’s annual productions are held in the MSU Denver Studio Theatre at the King Center on the Auraria Campus, in downtown Denver, Colorado. The MSU Denver Theatre program also performs at the Eugenia Rawls Coutyard Theatre and has a Blackbox Theatre in the ARTS building. The technologically advanced and accessible Kenneth King Academic and Performing Arts Center provides extraordinary shared performance spaces.

There were about 76,000 pilots, copilots, and flight engineers outside of the military in 2008 earning an average wage of $119,750. Applicants need at least 1,500 hours of flying time to be seriously considered by a major airline. Small regional airlines continually hire pilots with less than 1,000 hours of Pilot in Command time. There are also many fixed-base operators in need of aviation professionals who understand the industry.

Civil Engineering Technology graduates apply engineering principles in performing many of the tasks necessary for the planning and construction of highways, buildings, railroads, bridges, reservoirs, dams, irrigation works, water systems, airports, and other structures. In planning for a construction project, they may participate in estimating costs, preparing specifications for materials, and in surveying, drafting and design work. During the construction phase, they work closely with the contractor and the superintendent in scheduling field layout, construction activities, and the inspection of the work for conformity to specifications.
In recent years, a major work area for civil and environmental engineering technology has involved environmental problems. This includes design and construction of water supply facilities, design of wastewater collection and treatment facilities. The development of environmental impact studies and environmental impact statements are also included.

The focus of the MSU Denver Social Work Program is on urban problems that often affect oppressed minorities representing people of color (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Asian American) and other diverse populations (women and children, gays and lesbians, the developmentally delayed and the aging). The program is committed to helping those individuals in need and working toward changing the social, economic, and political context that often fosters painful and socially unjust human conditions.
Some of the primary program goals are to prepare students for generalist social work practice with diverse, urban populations at risk including individuals, families, groups, organizations, communities, and larger systems and to provide students with the knowledge and skills for understanding the dynamic nature of social problems, social policies, social agencies, and social change in the context of the urban environment as an evolving ecological system. As social workers, graduates may work to provide services to children and youth, the elderly, minorities, or women. Such services are provided in social service departments, nursing homes, residential facilities, mental health centers, schools, and health-care facilities.

Upon acquiring licensure, which is required in all 50 states, individuals interested in Early Childhood, Elementary, & Secondary Education can pursue a career in public or private school districts, or in other related fields. Graduates in Early Childhood Education are prepared to work with pre-primary, as well as primary-aged children, in both public and private sectors. With additional coursework, they can become specialized in parent education, special education, bilingual / bicultural, and literacy. Licensure in Elementary Education prepares students to teach children in grades K-6.
As increasing numbers of teachers retire and the school population grows, opportunities for new teachers occur. Students are encouraged to increase their marketability by minoring in an area of educational specialization such as bilingual / bicultural, early childhood, parenting, reading, and special education.
